I wanted a hardwood flooring look for my house but short of spending far too much money on real veneer, I had to find an alternative……
Now, it just so happens that Rhys is building a scale model of the tallship named “Bounty”. It has the perfect decking but of course, only enough is provided for his project and I know he would not be too happy if I appropriated his meager stocks so I did the next best thing – I scanned the deck! I enhanced the scan a little and printed onto a red/brown cardstock and then scored each joint in the planking to create my flooring.
Fitting the flooring was time consuming because my woodworking skills always leave me with a project that is not exactly square! Anyway, it all glued down in the end with a little adjustment (or many…) !
